Team Profile - William C. March
I am an apprentice at William C. March Middle School. The debate coach there is Mr. Murphy. This is Mr. Murphy's first year as a debate coach. He loves coaching the kids and is happy to watch them participate in such an engaging activity. The team is approximately 10 people and growing. On the team there is a large amount of 6th graders. The 6th graders enjoy the activity. They like learning new ideas and arguments and enjoy the tournaments. One of the debaters, Corey, said," I love debate because I have fun proving people wrong". William Addison, an 8th grader, said, "I love to debate because I get to learn new things in a fun way." The debaters at William C. March look at debate as way to have fun, stay busy, and engage in meaningful discussions. This is William C. March's first year with a debate team, and the children are excited. Corey, William Addison, and their partners had fun at the 1st middle school tournament. There were two teams at the middle school tournament. William Addison won 10th place novice speaker. They learned what their mistakes were and are ready to go at it again.
