Team Profile - City Springs Elementary/ Middle School
My name is Martise Brown. I am an apprentice for the Baltimore Urban Debate League and it is my honor to present City Springs School to the BUDL family.
City Springs Elementary/Middle is a school determined to seek a higher education no matter what obstacles they face. This quality is shown throughout the school and its debate team. "Although the team is made up of mostly 4th and 5th graders, the team is very enthusiastic about participating in BUDL tournaments," said Ms Jenae Toulson, debate coach.
In practices students participate in debate skill building activities that are both fun and beneficial to their debate careers. There are approximately 37 members on the debate squad, with one of the best new coaches in Baltimore City. This team is as knowledgeable as they are enthusiastic because they thirst for more ideas to make themselves better debaters.
To most of them, debate is a fun after school activity they signed up for. For others, it's a place for fellowship with friends. But for a few students, debate is a way to express oneself in order to make themselves better people. It is with great pleasure that I introduce to you, the future of the BUDL Middle School Tournaments, City Springs Elementary Middle School.
