ANNOUNCEMENT: Overnight Trip/College Visit
Application Due Date: November 3, 2010
This announcement and application is for students interested in attending the Liberty University Debate Tournament/College Open House Visit November 6-7, 2010. After a formal application submission process up to 8 students will be selected as welcomed guests of Liberty University. This campus and debate immersion program will allow students to not only visit and assess a college campus, they will also have the opportunity to talk with current college debaters, coaches and university administrators. The students will have the opportunity to spend the night in a chaperoned college dorm, eat in the dining hall, tour the campus, speak to the university’s students and representatives, and view a college debate. Furthermore, students will be allowed to talk directly to college debate coaches from across the country about their college debate plans.
Two Chaperones will be present at all times.
Student Eligibility:
BUDL is looking for responsible high school students who want to further develop their plans for college, specifically collegiate debate. Students should be in their junior or senior year of high school, and active members of their debate team. This trip is free of charge for student participants.
Ideal candidates must be:
· 11th or 12th graders with good debate attendance/participation
· Willing to act respectfully throughout the entire trip
· Must turn in complete permission slips to coach or BUDL by Wednesday Nov. 3rd
· Prepared to ask questions pertaining to college
· Mature and able to handle themselves on a college campus
· Willing to take full advantage of being on a college campus
· Leaders on their debate team
