Art, argument and public debate

Tue, 10/27/2009 - 10:15pm

This Sunday, five Apprentices from the Baltimore Urban Debate League showcased their public debate skills at a special "Free Fall" day at the American Visionary Arts Museum. Each addressed art and its role in both argumentation, and the pursuit of happiness - the theme represented by the museum's exhibit.

A number of museum visitors listened in to the speeches and meandered through other sections of the exhibit. BUDL students, although they said they were nervous, showed confidence and poise and insight on the topic as they gave their unique speeches. Stay tuned for a video clip of the debaters!
