Close to 200 Students Attend BUDL Middle School Tournament #2!

LAKE CLIFTON — Congratulations to the coaches and students from the 18 different middle schools that competed at the second tournament, many for the very first time! In addition to the schools that are part of our Middle School Program, BUDL also welcomed teams from The Barclay School and Waverly Middle, both members of the YMCA Debate League.

This tournament offered a dynamic mix of middle school students and teachers, high school students and students from Towson University who served as judges and support staff, and even some parents, school administrators and other members of the community who came out to observe.

Though there were a few mishaps – room changes, missing judges, etc. – everyone helped out, many went above and beyond their call, and the event turned out to be a great success.

Two very important things happened on Friday November 11, 2005. Nearly 200 middle school students showed courage enough to compete in a highly competitive academic sport, and every last one of them had their chance!
