Election Debates on 92Q Big Phat Morning Show at Talent Development

tudents from the Baltimore Urban Debate League debated live on 92Q’s Big Phat Morning Show on Tuesday morning, broadcast from Talent Development High School in Baltimore City.

Lakeisha Johnson, Valeria Jones, Kenneth Westbrook and Kevin Whitley took on the topic of lowering the voting age to 16; Matthew Ballou and Jasmine Coleman addressed ways that young people can influence elections without being of voting age. All six are members of Talent's debate team, and were joined at the event by teammate Tayvon Powell and coaches Jarrell Baker and Chris Randall.

The debate was part of an effort co-sponsored by 92Q and the NCAAP to inspire 17-year-olds to register to vote in Maryland’s primary.

In addition to being broadcast live on 92Q, the event garnered coverage from several local print and television outlets.
