SAT Prep Classes Start Soon!!!

This 6-7 week course will teach you all of the strategies you need to get a great score!  Practice tests, subject area review, tips & tricks - our curriculum was developed in conjunction with top test prep companies.  CA-BUDL wants to level the playing field of college for you with this free course.  More information coming soon!

Saturday October 9th, 2010: First High School Tournament!  This kicks off the first College Access Unit: "Researching Colleges & Universities"

  • During the lunch hour there will be:
    • A brief presentation on "How to Research Colleges & Universities"
    • October College Fair(s) Registration (FREE)
    • Upcoming College Open House Schedules and Sign-ups
    • Morgan State College Awareness Day Sign-Ups
    • BUDL SAT Prep Course Interest forms and Sign-Ups

 

Job Announcements:

The BUDL Apprenticeship/ College Access Program is looking to fill FIVE positions as a College Access Program Associate!  This position is open to BUDL high school students (strong preference to juniors and seniors), it will require 5 hours per week and associates will work directly under the College Access Program Coordinator (Lauryn).  The position will involve working on publicizing College Access Events and Programs, helping to plan and facilitate 2-3 PD (school closed) days, researching college access updates and posting for online posts, recruiting fellow students to participate in college access opportunities, conduct peer surveys and help with program logistics planning.  This is a great resume builder and a fantastic opportunity to be hands on and at the forefront of the college planning process!  Questions? Must take HSAs for English, Algebra/Data Analysis, Biology and Government; Specific score must be included on transcript.

Students graduating from high school in or after 2010 must pass the High School Assessments to graduate. The Maryland State
Department of Education passing standard requires that students do either of the following:
1) Earn a combined score of at least 1,602 (the total of the four minimum scores), or
2) Successfully complete the High School Bridge Plan.

Frostburg State University is a public university located in Frostburg, MD.  It's current enrollement is around 4,000 students and it has a yearly cost of a little over $13,000 (tuition, room and board) for in-state students!  With over 45 majors, a diverse campus and several scholarships available to new and returning students, Frostburg State University is a great option!
