It is because of individuals like you that the Baltimore Urban Debate League is able to provide young people with opportunities to succeed. For a list of our supporters and investors, click here. If you would like to speak further with someone about the many ways you can support the students of the League, use this form and someone will contact you.

There are many ways for to help: contributing financially, volunteering to judge, helping at our tournaments, volunteering at a school, helping with office activities (like mailing postcards), donating resources, spreading the word about the BUDL, and helping to advocate for the League.

  • Donate by mail - Please send cash or check made payable to: the Baltimore Urban Debate League, 18oo N. Charles Street, Suite 804, Baltimore, MD 21201. Donations are tax deductible and you will receive a receipt in acknowledgement of your gife.

How Your Contribution will Help

  • $100 - Covers the cost of transportation to and from one weekend tournament for five students.
  • $250 - Covers the cost of food and trophies at a year's-worth of tournaments for one high school debater.
  • $500 - Helps to pay the stipend for one BUDL coach for one semester of coaching debate.
  • $1,000 - Sends two students on scholarship to Countdown to College, a one-week camp for rising juniors and seniors with a focus on SAT preparedness, writing college essays and financial aid services.
  • $5,000 - Sponsors one tournament, covering the costs of food, materials, trophies and some transportation for more than 200 students.
  • $10,000 - Sponsors one debate team at a school of your choice, covering all costs for one full year.
